Fall Festivities

Fall is in full swing around here, and the Halloween activities have begun. Our friends have two Halloween parties every year -- one for kids and one for parents. Every inch, and I mean EVERY INCH, of their house is done up in decorations. Here are a few highlights.

We are missing out on the adult party (thank goodness we don't have to come up with costumes, we are terrible at that!), but the children enjoyed theirs. Charlotte started out as a panda, but after some face painting, became a zombie. Anson came very late to the party because of a basketball commitment and didn't get in the photos.

Charlotte maintained her apple bobbing title after some avid dunking.

The kids' school also had a fall festival and I participated partly by buying up some of these yummy treats. Wish I had the time to bake like these parents!

We're off to the North Carolina mountains this weekend to enjoy the fall foliage and possibly some snow!

Another Autumn in Charlottesville

There isn't much better than Charlottesville in the spring and fall. Even Anson and Charlotte agreed we didn't have enough time there this weekend.

Friday: Riverside, movie in the sofa bed, chatting with Dad over wine.

Saturday: Spudnut, downtown mall, coffee, fraternity party, football game, meltdown (Charlotte), home to see the Hoos WIN (?!) on TV, tree climbing, concert, hot dog, hanging out with a local friend.

Sunday: Bodo's, Carter's Mountain for apple picking, sandwiches from Bellair market, picnic at Boar's Head, ride home, sleep.

That says it all!

Birthdays Galore

Just on the tail of my birthday, we are celebrating a few days worth of Anson's. Saturday was his party and a sleepover, which runneth over into Sunday. Sunday afternoon we gave him a few presents, and today is the official day.

Happy 9th Birthday to my "big boy," who is still excited to have his mama and daddy come to lunch with him at school.
