Pepperoni, No Anchovies, Please

We kicked off the American Thanksgiving season here in Raleigh with a Harvest Feast at Charlotte's preschool. The children began with a performance of classic autumnal favorites...a play about a bug from New Zealand (Charlotte played a horse), and a rousing rendition of the "I am a Pizza" and "Slippery Fish" songs.

Where were the pilgrim hats, the turkeys made from outlines of your hand, and the "over the river and through the woods" song? No worries, the performance was short and sweet, and that's what matters. Charlotte spread her arms the widest and sang the loudest.

We spent Thanksgiving day at the Norcrosses, which was fabulous, as usual.  Lots of fun, family, friends, and food!  Not to mention the Paul Conroy memorial wine tasting.  Russell and I came in tied for last with the wine we brought.  Oh well, maybe next year!

I'm waiting on a group photo from Cleta from that party, but here are a few from the day. I have to admit, we weren't really on the ball with photographs this time...

Our weekend also included decorating gingerbread men, walking on the beach, lounging in the hot tub, playing golf (Anson and Philip), and attending Greg and Melanie Jones' annual Turkey Bowl, where we all bring our leftovers to the park and play football and hang out.  I'll do a separate post on the most interesting part of the weekend....going through Emma's old toys.  Just wait, you won't believe your Barbie eyes!
